「人工智能」这个词日常里被用来指大模型聊天，但严格说大模型只是其中一支。

A broad field: making machines behave in ways we recognise as intelligent. It is not one technology but many, and today's chatbots are only a branch of it.

为什么需要知道Why it matters

你只需要知道它是个大筐。别人说「用了 AI」时，先问一句具体是哪支技术，答案往往差很远。People often use "AI" to mean a chat model. Strictly speaking a large language model is one approach inside AI, not AI itself — most claims about "AI" are really claims about one kind of model.
